Mig-23 - Thunder Over Michigan

Spectators attending the annual Thunder Over Michigan airshow in 2016 will get quite the treat as a Soviet era jet fighter has been added to the lineup. Warbirds of Delaware will bring their MiG-23 Flogger to the show, an aircraft rarely seen at US airshows.

Warbirds of Delaware’s site lists two MiG-23s in their collection. The aircraft is capable of a max speed of Mach 2.35!

A third-generation Soviet fighter, the MiG-23 first took flight in 1970 during the Cold War era.

Also performing at this year’s Thunder Over Michigan airshow is the Mi-24 Hind Helicopter, the Breitling Jet Team, and the always exciting WWII re-enactment. Other performers will likely be announced soon.
