The 2019 Wings Over North Georgia airshow has been cancelled. No reason was given for the sudden news, but organizers were quick to focus on 2020, when the US Air Force Thunderbirds will headline the event.

The airshow, which takes place in Rome, GA was scheduled for August 31-September 1. They were awarded a spot on the F-16 Fighting Falcon Demo Team’s schedule less than a month ago, and now the team may choose to fill the date with another event.

ROME, GA (JUNE 2019) The Wings Over North Georgia Air Show has been privileged to host Northwest Georgia’s top-rated fall event for the past seven years. The support of the local community, sponsors, military and performers has enabled us to host many of the most elite aviation performers and teams in the world.

The 2019 Wings Over North Georgia air show scheduled for Aug 31 – Sept 1 (Labor Day Weekend) is announcing its official cancellation. All tickets purchased for the 2019 event will be refunded beginning Monday through our ticketing agency, ETIX. All reserved camping and vendor deposits & fees will be refunded through the air show office.

The eighth annual Wings Over North Georgia Air show will take place October 24-25, 2020. We are proud to announce the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are scheduled to serve as the headlining act. Additional performers along with ticket and air show information will be made available later this fall.

The Thunderbirds have performed during two previous Wings Over North Georgia Air Show events. Due to the size of the existing runway, they have staged the aircraft and operated from a remote location. With the anticipated completion of the runway extension at Rome’s Russell Regional Airport, the Thunderbirds will be hosted for the first time at the air show venue during the 2020 event providing a better experience for air show spectators and the jet demonstration team.
