Re: How Many Airshows Are You Attending In 2018?

Finally put together a list for myself: At least one Shuttleworth show (probably including the Season Premiere) Royal International Air Tattoo - the full week, for RAF100 RAF Cosford Airshow - but only if they get some good international performers Midlands Air Festival - depending on lineup Republi...

Re: 2018 USAF Thunderbirds Schedule

Pardon my ignorance, but I saw this letter today from the Secretary of the Air Force and wonder if it applies to the Thunderbirds and other demo teams. Looking at the wording, I'd guess so guess so as their operations surely aren't integral to national security or safety, but I'm sure there's someon...

Re: Singapre Airshow 2018

Well I hope it all works out for you and that you enjoy the show! Never been to river safari myself and have heard mixed reviews. People rave about the zoo but I far prefer the night safari (a night zoo just next to the main zoo) which is utterly superb. People give Singapore a hard time and say it'...

Re: Singapre Airshow 2018

No worries at all! I'm seeing two potential problems here though. It's theoretically very easy to get from the airshow to the airport (the shuttle bus goes to Expo MRT, which is one stop from Changi Airport MRT). First question - which terminal are you going to? If you're going to terminals 1, 2 or ...

Re: Singapre Airshow 2018

Yeah, nothing outside of the published flying times I'm afraid. You'll get a few RSAF Super Pumas coming and going from one corner of the static display for joy flights, but that's about all. There's about a three hour gap between the flying segments, which is really longer than you need if you're g...

Re: Singapre Airshow 2018

Former Singapore Airshow regular here. Welcome to, quite possibly, the most frustrating airshow in the entire world! I estimate that, if all the performers were to fly back-to-back, there's currently about 100-110 minutes of activity there. However, the Singapore Airshow website says there are two b...

Re: 2018 USAF Thunderbirds Schedule

Of course. I forgot Melbourne. It will indeed be interesting to see if that one gets dropped from the schedule, it would buy them a lot of valuable practice time if so.

Re: 2018 USAF Thunderbirds Schedule

Here's some clarification: https://www.newsairshow.com/headlines/2018/1/16/luke-afb-moves-luke-days-to-march-17-18-replaces-thunderbirds-with-blue-angels Luke is changing dates and jet teams. Combined with the cancelled Dobbins show, this could potentially open up an additional three weeks of traini...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2018

Norwegian Air Force Historical Squadron have self-confirmed their Vampire T.55 and FB.52 for the RIAT flying display. Both will be temporarily painted in RAF markings for RAF100. Not sure if this will be a full display or involvement in some kind of RAF100 flypast or set piece. Personally I'd prefer...
