To be fair to the dedicated video cameras, stabilising a 5x zoom lens is a lot easier than stabilising a 20x zoom lens! 100% agree on turning off auto gain and avoiding shows with known overly-loud speakers. There are a couple of things I'll pick up on here with two potentially useful ideas contained within. No - for two reasons. One being that I saw the original version of that press release yesterday and came to the opinion above after having read it. And the other being that "would not be surprised" ≠ "think it is the most likely scenario" and certainly it doesn't indicate any end...
