Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
I'm assuming the static displays will be available from the time the parking gates open until a set time to help expedite the arrival/departure process, as well as allow the aircraft that are on static display to fly. That just means we're going to have to be there right when the parking gates open...

You will be able to see the B-25's, don't worryrobert16627 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 4:33 pm This email was just sent out to people who are subscribed to the Thunder Over Michigan email. They are gonna allow the public to walk around the static displays only and I assume not the birds that are gonna fly, but I could be wrong.

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
Thought for fun I would add in here some recent Mitchell gathering goal numbers as Michael keeps adding to the list... 14- OSH's recent amount 15- TOM 2007's amount 16- 16 will break the recent "airshow" record which was TOM's 17- Doolittle gathering 2010's amount 19- Doolittle gathering 2...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
Just a heads up, the main runway at YIP is under construction until September 15th 2021. Airshow arrivals will either land 27 or 23R, but 23R is much narrower than Runway 27, so many may land on 27. I'm curious how arrivals will be this year. Last year's 5R (main runway) was fantastic. 23R is that ...

Another Mitchell Confirmed, The Dakota Territory Air Museum's B-25J "Betty's Dream". Keep the Mitchells Coming! Take-off Time and Betty's Dream are pretty special considering Tom Duffy doesn't normally do airshows and the last Mitchell gathering it attended was almost a decade ago, and Be...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
Website is updated but still no Aircraft List up. Can't wait to see the list of aerial displays this year. As mentioned on their website and kind of obvious, there will be a lot more aerial flybys and performances. With only about two hours of flying, I'm wondering how much they will try to cram in...

Re: National Championship Air Races 2021
Question for anyone who has gone before - would I miss a ton if I didn't get there until Friday morning? Looking at the sample schedule it looks like it is mostly the lighter classes in the first couple days, plus airshow practices. I was originally planning to be there for the whole event but I'm ...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
Oh, I wouldn't forget to mention about a dozen Mitchells buzzing the airspace as well. Make it a dozen and a half As for the museum’s former Caribou that is now owned by John Bagely, it still has a lot of work to be done. It had the work done to get it to ferrying status but a lot has to be done to...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
There is a new aircraft announced for TOM via a FB Group. The DHC-4 Caribou that YAM had, It got flightworthy and it's being delivered to someone in Idaho but he's going to be a regular at TOM! N6080, none other than Mr. John Bagley! I hope the "regular at TOM" is true, ID to MI isn't a s...
