I'm a noob here and found my way here looking for more info on this show and if the F35 might be doing a couple quick passes like I've heard it's been doing. If anyone knows the likelihood of catching it flying would be a great help. If It's not flying in the show I'll be trying to catch it on it's flight in at least.

To touch on your F-35 question, the F-35 Heritage Flight Team does 3 solo passes before the 3 HF formation passes with a warbird aircraft. Unfortunately, the F-35 HF Team will be in the UK the weekend of Westover.
I do see that one will be on static display as you have posted. If you have the time or are flexible, you could catch it arriving (Thursday or Friday) or departing (Monday) the show. Aircraft will sometimes do a pass or 2 when arriving or departing....or just land straight in or take-off and leave lol
The hardest part about catching it is getting the timing of when it arrives or departs and if Westover is good for plane spotting.
It might be a bit of a challenge, but if you have the time to sit at the airport and watch, it could be rewarding!
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info on the team being overseas at the time of this show. I'm hoping to find some time to try and catch it on the way inbound but can be a little tough to spot there since it is mainly a ARB base. Looking forward to seeing it even just on the ground though so won't be too disappointed. Take care!

Whether it is at Barnes or Westover, the Great New England Airshow organizers always put on a great show.
Last year's Barnes show was great with A-10's and the local F-15C's flying.
This year's statics at Westover look excellent.
always big crowds, so arrive early.

What day do you think the Thunderbirds will arrive in town for this show? I know they'll do a practice on Friday but do they arrive Thursday or earlier? Hoping to catch a glimpse of them and some other arrivals and just trying to pick the best day to catch some.
Weather looks like mid 80's and clear for the weekend as of right now.

The advance jets usually arrive Weds and the rest usually arrive Thursday. Circles and arrivals may be on either Thursday or Friday and Friday afternoon will be a full showHOSMER79 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 09, 2018 1:28 pm What day do you think the Thunderbirds will arrive in town for this show?
