Light is great in the morning but starts to suck in the afternoon. Show right has the best light later on for the Blues.

Does anyone know if the Blue Angels will be practicing today? If so what time do they normally do that?

Thanks for the info. Some low clouds are starting to roll in but doesn’t look like rain. Are the snow birds practicing today to?

I've been sitting in on a running conversation with some friends in line. Very thankful I'm not there. I'd be going nuts missing the fleet demo just to get a pass. Hope it goes quickly for you!

Came down from Niagara Falls, Ontario. Lined up at 10:30 for my pass. A few guys came out saying they just got their pass, it was a 2-1/2 hour wait. I waited in line a bit, then thought, this is stupid, I’m in Virginia Beach, there’s an Ocean to swim in. In truth, if you wanted to deter people from bringing in big lenses to the show, this is exactly what you would do. You would have them send a picture with their application, and then have one guy today taking another picture today. And then you would make sure they had a nice long wait.

I’ve been coming since 2006. The days are long past where there’s been an interesting line-up here. I remember fleet formations of 12 aircraft. It was half that today.

Then there’s the exit to deal with. Do you skip the Blue Angels for an early egress, or sit in traffic for 60 minutes at show end.

As for jet pictures, the best light is always before 12:30.

I might go tomorrow. I might go with my 200mm F4 and bring the extender, or just see what happens with the 100-400 at the entrance. Or I might just stay at the beach.

Got in line at 800am. Got on base by 930. If you didn’t come early you were pretty much SOL this morning.
