Westmoreland County Airshow May 25-26
Working on photos in no particular order. This P-51 takeoff was AMAZING on the hill. I wish I could have seen it again Sunday.
Sorry we didn't cross paths Spooks, I didn't get anything super amazing for your friend but I'll try to work on what I do have soon!

Yessir, I was looking for you but just couldn't pick you out. Great pics of the P-51! I guess he had another heritage flight or something so he took off that day.
As it turns out, we should have tried to meet up on Friday to get you out there. We were able to get on the ramp with unfettered access, nobody even questioned who we were. Hope the show left a good impression, I always enjoy it because it's pretty relaxed, people are courteous and it's not overcrowded. My buddy has a few years left, so I'm going to try and convince him to do it again in a few years. It's just hard because they only fly 4 per year, 2 East and 2 West. I also saw someone post at some point about the USMC requiring the airport to pay for fuel...which is incorrect, they only request that they get the government rate.
Maybe someone that has been there before will confirm, but I think it was different this year and they moved show center down left towards the hill. Previously the VIP tent was on the ramp and show center was moved closer to the entrance. That's why I told you to look to set up closer to ATC, turns out I was a bit off

Yeah that would have been great, but I ended up not even trying to get on the ramp. My parents changed their travel plans to match mine at the last minute so I would have felt bad ditching them Friday. I decided to watch from the end of the runway with them. With show center being really far left it made it pretty useless unfortunately, so I won't plan on that again in the future.Sp00ks102 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 12:29 pmYessir, I was looking for you but just couldn't pick you out. I was told by a friend who's been there in the past that the layout was changed this year and extended further left. He said the ramp up to the VIP area used to be a not even fenced off section of seating. They sat quite close to the taxiway and had no one around them. This year it was all snow fenced so no chance of that.
