Wow that is very exciting news for us Canadian aviation buffs...I have never seen the Red Arrows here in Canada....can't wait!!

Possible Canadian Stops for the Red Arrows:
-CFB Bagotville has a lot of political pull to lure them to Quebec on June 22 but the mighty Dayton Ohio Air Show is also that weekend.
-Abbotsford, BC show on August 10 is a good bet as they seem to always get the best.
-CIAS in Toronto is a always a big one on the August 31 Labour Day weekend but it coincides with Cleveland National Air Show.
-London has great success luring in the big USAF jets for a super show on September 14 and there are no conflicts with USA shows that weekend.
-Outside chances for St. Hubert/Montreal on June 1 and Val D'Or, Quebec on June 8.
-and June 6 is a real possibility for CFB Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan , home of our legendary RCAF Snowbirds.

Looking forward to the release of the Red Arrows 2019 appearances in Canada and USA....its been a long time coming!

A small reality check, the tour is only in August and September so a number of those shows are out :)

Thanks for the clarification Ryan... the excitement was so high I got carried away!
So that narrows down the possible lucky stops in Canada to Abbotsford, BC Aug. 9, Toronto Aug. 31, Ottawa Sept. 7 and London Sept. 13
Can't wait to see the British legends......blue skies!

By sheer coincidence, this MoD Statement was issued today
The Red Arrows will fly to North America for the Western Hawk 19 tour after taking part in the Royal International Air Tattoo, at RAF Fairford, from 19 July to 21 July. They will travel across the two nations with a view to promoting trade and co-operation in support of the UK’s prosperity agenda.

Defence Minister Mark Lancaster said:

The Red Arrows are an international symbol of Britain and this landmark event will generate a significant amount of investment. It is only right that, after more than a decade away, they return to the home of our closest defence ally.”

Previous tours, which include China, Greece, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Pakistan and Bahrain, have led to the UK gaining as much as ten times in sales and investments as the cost of the tour.

The Red Arrows will display at several US air shows and areas with strong UK links – the first time they have done so in more than a decade.

Wing Commander Andrew Keith, Officer Commanding, Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, said:

One of the key roles of the Red Arrows is to support UK interests overseas and this major tour to North America will provide an important opportunity to both showcase the best of British and highlight the strong relationships we have with the US and Canada.”

“The deployment will build on the recent successful Red Arrows tours to China, the Far East and Gulf regions and the team is already preparing extensively – to present a safe, memorable and visually-exciting formation display to new audiences across the Atlantic
.”

There has been a lengthier statement from Mark Lancaster MP. He says that there will be a short period of maintenance and leave after RIAT and the team will leave the UK by the end of the month.

I don't think there was ever much doubt that the RAF's other teams would be staying in the UK but there have at times been calls on social media for the Typhoon Solo Display to accompany the Reds. That idea can now be put to bed, the statement confirms that the Typhoon display and other teams will remain in the UK to represent the RAF at British shows. "Their air display participation will be carefully prioritised to deliver maximum impact," he said.

Perhaps more pertinent to the US/Canadian story is confirmation this is not just about visiting airshows:-
As well as displaying at a range of shows across North America the Red Arrows will also attend engagements promoting the Government’s GREAT campaign, visit local schools, meet with business leaders and showcase the very best of British culture. Western Hawk 19 will showcase our excellence, professionalism and proud heritage in education, engineering and technology to our allies. It will also demonstrate the global reach and capability of the RAF and our continuing support of the United Kingdom’s defence and commerce industries.

Nothing new there. The substantive part of that is a re-hash, almost word-for-word, of the original press release last October:
"As well as displaying at a range of shows and events, the team will also attend engagements promoting the UK Government’s GREAT campaign, visit local schools, meet with business leaders and showcase the very best of British culture. "

I would put significant bets down on Abby getting the Red Arrows. Abbotsford is the best airshow in the Pacific Northwest, got a photo pit, great people, three days of fun, few to no noise whiners (they're atrocious south of the ridiculous US-CAN border!).

Also maybe Eurofighter will please wise up and send a factory demo Eurofighter to put on a display with a decent ammo loadout. Which would be better than just the RAF Typhoon Demo for those who want to photograph air combat jets packing heat!

Mentioned at the start of this thread, but word is that they will start on the east coast.

I would bet 0 dollars on this happening.
I mean would it be great? Sure, but not happening.
