The Company will also host one of its Air Race World Championship events in November 2022 in Australia, with an option to host events in 2023 and 2024. Additional details on the host city and venue will be announced at a later date.

This will be the first time that an AIR RACE event has been held in Australia since Perth in 2010. It is expected that approximately 150,000 people will watch the event live. An estimated 50 million people are expected to view the two-day global broadcast through both Linear and OTT TV channels (Nielsen Sports).

Matt Hall, Reigning AIR RACE World Champion, added, “The last time I raced in Australia was 2010, so to be racing again in Australia is really exciting.”

Nalin Jay, CEO of AIR RACE Limited commented, “I’m delighted to announce the we have signed these agreements for the inaugural 2022 race at the historic home of UK motorsport at Goodwood and in Australia for the 2022 Air Race Season, with options for 2023 and 2024. Australia has an incredible sporting legacy, and it is only fitting that we are racing in the home country of the current AIR RACE World Champion, Matt Hall. Both locations will provide a stunning backdrop for the Air Race and fans are expected to come from all over the world to watch what is still the fastest motorsport in the world. The whole world has gone through an incredibly difficult couple of years and we are now seeing the opportunity to commit once again to safe and large-scale public events. These two announcements, following our announcement of Jakarta last month, will be followed by several more over the coming weeks as we put together our final race calendar for 2022 and 2023.”

Further confirmation that Thessaloniki, Greece, intends to host a race this year, according to this local radio station: https://1077statusfm.gr/news/99-news/29 ... nikis.html

Meanwhile in this interview, the Series Director is quoted saying there will be five races in 2021.
https://www.sportindustry.biz/features/ ... -be-amazed
I was told within the last month that it is six races and that all of six venues are virtually ready to announce, so I wonder if that may be a mistake. But either way, there could be more surprises to come, because planning is seemingly underway for a venue in the Middle East that hadn't been mentioned before. Perhaps they are planning ahead for 2023, or maybe there have been some last-minute schedule changes to this year's season.

Well this is a surprise! Malaysia confirmed as a host country for 2022-24. This year's race will be in September. As usual, there is no confirmation of the specific location just yet, but the name of the partner company (Borneo Airlines Sdn Bhd) suggests it may be in Borneo.

Apart from Goodwood and Australia, I've never been told any of the host countries in advance. I was just told how many races, and that Touchpoint had released a list of host countries that was accurate. But combined with recent suggestions that there's a possible Middle East venue this year too, it seems either the list was innacurate, or I was looking at the wrong one!

Well it's May 11th, one of the dates when they said tickets would go on sale, and race day tickets have indeed become available. Race day tickets are more expensive than Quali, at £66 per adult and £33 for a young person. All other the other packages have also increased by a similar proportion.

Qualifying tickets are now here: https://www.universe.com/events/air-rac ... ircid=7559

And race day tickets here: https://www.universe.com/events/air-rac ... ircid=7559

The company that says it is handling the event management, logistics and ticketing for Goodwood has also been behind F1 events, concerts, major TV shows and more, so hopefully that's a good sign.

After several weeks of silence, and still no formal announcement about tickets for Goodwood, there's a tiny bit of new information from parent company Touchpoint, released yesterday. They say "We have ... entered into agreements to host Air Race World Championships for the 2022 race season in the United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia and Jakarta and are currently in discussions with two additional cities." A $1 million deposit has been recieved ahead of the Australia race.

However, seperately, they note that "the air race series is expected to start in the third quarter of 2022".

The local Parish Council for Goodwood posted a brief update last week, giving the race dates as the 2nd-4th September (it was initially scheduled for July, which is still the date given on the Air Race website). They also provided a link to the following racetrack simulation:
