Surprising news - the Thunderbirds say they are done with the America Strong flyovers and the Blue Angels implied the same late last week although I'm not sure they officially announced it. I expected at least one more flight to hit Portland and Seattle.

I wonder if they were given an end date and got as many in as they could, or if they decided to call off future attempts given the trouble they had with air traffic over LA. Either way, a pretty abrupt ending to the whole thing.

There are still a few flyovers from other units planned, but they have certainly slowed down big time as well.
Friday’s flyover of San Diego and Los Angeles was dedicated to the healthcare workers, first responders, military and essential employees battling COVID-19 in California.

It also served as our final mission for #AmericaStrong. It was an honor to partner with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels to salute frontline responders across the U.S. during this difficult time it our nation.

Stay healthy and stay tuned for team updates!

I'm sincerely grateful our military aviators are making the time, trouble and effort to do these flyovers for our medical profesionals.

One of the probably few flyovers remaining - B-52 from Minot to fly over North Dakota on May 18th (Monday)

I’m not too optimistic about the Western PA flyover scheduled for Tuesday. They postponed from Friday due to a poor forecast (and it was gorgeous) and now the entire week has strong thunderstorms forecast and soaking rain.

The 171st and 193rd flyover was well attended, but today was a pretty terrible day weather wise compared to the original date last Friday and yesterday both of which were gorgeous. The KC-135 callsign STEEL62 and EC-130J callsign BATON20 flew over the downtown area at 2,500' AGL with quite a bit of separation. Cloudy skies and gusty winds made for pretty difficult photography conditions.

This was their approach to the downtown area. I was hoping the 193rd would be tucked up right behind the 171st.
