Blue Angels Tease Return of Fat Albert, with a New Paint Scheme

Post by RyanS » Mon Mar 09, 2020 10:48 pm

Blue Angels Public Affairs posted a screenshot of a video today which shows a few thumbnails of the new Fat Albert paint scheme! In the comments they mention that she will probably join the team in spring, but no firm date yet.

#BAFans check out these images of our Fat Albert crew performing a check ride training flight inside a C-130J simulator at NAS JRB Fort Worth.

The Blue Angels C-130 pilots and crew are preparing to transition to the C-130J model, which will provide improved logistics support and eventually join the Blue Angels demonstration!

Your #BlueAngels C-130 transport aircraft pilots and crew are hard at work preparing to transition to the C-130J model, which will provide improved logistics support and eventually join the Blue Angels performance!

With support from Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 234 (VMGR 234), we were able to perform a low-level proficiency training flight over Lake Powell.

Thank you to VMGR-234 for all your help in preparing us for our airframe transition!

"Just a nice Picture...!”

To be delivered very soon to the Blue Angels, the US Navy demonstration team.

The newest Fat Albert, BuNo 170000 (ex RAF ZH885), was photographed at the compass swing with Marshall at Cambridge on 7 July 2020.

Good Morning, #BAFans!

Your C-130 pilots and crew are currently performing their first functional check flight (FCF) in our new C-130J this morning over England. This FCF is part of a series of scheduled maintenance tests that will be completed prior to our transatlantic flight back to the United States!

Check out this video of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels new C-130J #FatAlbert 1st take off! The crew is doing final tests and training before heading back across the Atlantic to NAS Pensacola. Let's hope the props spin faster than that. LOL (stupid rolling shutter)

After a successful functional flight check on Tuesday, we are putting the final touches on Bert.

We are one step closer to bringing her home!

We would also like to welcome SSgt Leighton Gaddis, SSgt Brandon Paulsen and Sgt Zachary Parsons to the our C-130 crew!

We have some exciting news #BAFans!

Your C-130 pilots and crew are headed west for their transatlantic flight back to the United States with our new “J” model!

Upon return to the U.S., the crew will complete scheduled maintenance at JRB NAS Fort Worth, before returning to Pensacola, Florida!

Check back later for more updates!
