The organizers of this show have said that any camera lenses larger than 35mm will be prohibited due to 'security concerns' about the 'assets' on display at the show. What an absolute load of shit.

For comparison, my static display lens is 15-85mm. Most cameras come with a lens that reaches 55mm. Even those would not be allowed.

I have heard bad things about this show in the past but this is an entirely new level of stupid.

Overall a stupid decision made by organizers. This will disappoint a lot hardcore fans and deter them from attending, but it will also shew away the general public that is into photography.

Just a big pickle that the show has put themselves in on the business side of things.

Posted on their Facebook page 17 minutes ago.
After review with our security team, we have updated the allowable lense focal length not to exceed 200mm which is in line with our fellow air wings hosting military Airshow’s. Bags are allowed and subject to inspection. Phones are allowed without regard to the camera capability of the phone. We will update our website accordingly.

I've been following some of the blow back on Facebook. What an absolute train wreck of an airshow.

I hope someone shows up with a 200mm lens and multiple 2x extenders on it!

The idea that any camera lens is a "security issue" for any show is laughable, and I don't even have a DSLR.
