C-17 performed a demo about 20 min after the show ended.
I had already left by that time.

Anyway, apart from Red Bull and Viper Demo, the show was a disappointment. Para-Commandos were grounded by wind, Coast Guard MH-65 had mechanical issues leaving the HC-144 to do orbits and the Blues had 5 jets until the Echelon Parade when an issue arose and finished with a 3-plane Diamond and a 4-plane “Delta”

I am watching the livestream right now, and there are only four jets flying. I know one of the solos has yet to be show certified, which one would hope should be soon, but have no idea what is up with the other. Hope things are better next weekend.

And that's a wrap on a very forgettable weekend for the Blue Angels. "New" jets for the team, but the same old mechanical issues all weekend. This was accompanied with number 6 yet to be certified (as previously mentioned), Fat Albert yet to be certified, and constantly changing ceilings throughout.

I saw this mentioned in the Sun N Fun forum, but I noticed this week that the team is very hesitant to pull the trigger on the low or high show vertical maneuvers. Granted, there were low to mid level clouds to contend with each day, but I have seen the team work around them and do hybrid shows bouncing between the flat/low/high show maneuvers in the past. Maybe this is just a biproduct of the new airframes, it being early in the season, and the team erring on the side of caution. I am sure better days are ahead in the Supers, but it led to a very flat performance this weekend (no pun attended).

The rest of the show was meh, but certainly better than no show at all. Viper demo was the most impressive performer. The high speed passes really rocked. Toro is definitely hitting his stride this year. The Red Bull Air Force routine was pretty cool too. I don't think I have see all 3 acts perform in a row at the same show before. Honestly the crowd seemed more into them than the Blues given the issues they faced Friday through Sunday.

I was thinking that. If they haven’t yet certified #6 or Fat Albert then don’t bother bringing them to show sites so they can only do practice flights.
