Long time listener, first time caller! Big fan of this site and all the contributors! I finally got around to registering!
Thanks for posting the schedule. Has there been any scuttlebutt around the 'Dual Show Centers' concept that was pitched earlier this year? I'm hoping it'll help move the flippy acts through quickly...if it's still happening. I haven't heard or seen anything since that announcement.
Thanks!

Welcome!

The double box is still alive but really won't have a big impact. They are only doing this with seasoned aerobatic pilots who won't have trouble staying in the box. Warbirds, formation acts, and less maneuverable aircraft will be given the full box.

If you look at the daily schedule you can see places where the pilots are noted as North or South, indicating they will use the split box. It looks like it will only be done once or twice per day and everything else will be normal. Sadly, I doubt it will open up time for the other stuff.

I clearly missed those callouts! Thanks for pointing those out. It's disappointing (but understandable) with the limited use. Maybe I'm wrong but it looks like they took the opportunity to add an additional flippy act with the dual box versus consolidating a couple acts from what they've historically done...C'est la vie!
Looking forward to next week. I'll be there Tuesday through Friday. Hope to see some of you there!

Is there any chance that the Blacksnakes will be landing and going on static display Thursday? We get in to MKE at 230pm and will probably not be there until 330-400. Really hoping to get the Blacksnake jet if it comes. Also, do they release the statics schedule at all?

Thanks
Jordan

Usually we dont really hear of what statics are coming in what day until the day of the show most days. So definitely be on the lookout on here or social media for any announcements people may hear throughout the week.

The Blacksnakes usually have one jet on static and one over on the non-accessible military ramp. I remember them taxiing out from both locations to start their demo in the past.

Oshkosh kind of sucks for statics; they come in at random times and more often than not get forced to land even if they request approaches. There is also limited space in the square so many of the military aircraft are left on the mil ramp on the other side of the airport.

I'm definitely hopeful that they will bring the black jet and put it on static - I think the odds of that are pretty good!

Yeah we'll do our best for keeping people informed of what's coming and going each day.

When some of the members here get a hold of the Boeing Plaza schedule for the day, they often post it here. Checking in around 8-9 a.m. every morning will give you a good idea on if there will be any static arrivals or reshuffling of aircraft in the plaza because that's where the military statics are always parked.

We also usually have some members who will post the airshow schedule for the day when they have it. If you check back between Noon-2 p.m. you should have more specific info on times for each act.

Sometimes significant arrivals are incorporated into the airshow, typically at the very beginning or the end of the show. I always hope for the end because there's a better chance of a few "missed approaches." :D

I'm excited to start the drive tonight! Going to Janesville Warbird Weekend tomorrow and will be at Oshkosh bright and early Monday morning.

Probably worth a reminder, or especially for anybody that is a first-timer, if you're on the field the daily show schedule with specific performers and times for their displays will be posted by noon at the Homebuilders HQ just to the west of the brown arch. I always go by there an hour or two before the airshow starts and grab a pic of it, that way I don't have to worry about internet access maybe being sketchy and it can also be very helpful when I'm back at home editing photos maybe a couple weeks later and the specifics of who/what/where/when have gotten a little fuzzy.

I’ve heard rumors of a triple bomber flyover anyone else heard about this? Or F-22s coming for the plaza.
