I just do not understand the organizers for this show. Today they “officially” announced the Rhino is performing a full Tac Demo…which is exactly one week before the show. The Instagram page for the West Coast Rhino team announced it was a full demo 3 weeks ago. Why they waited to announce today is beyond me. I guess it’s officially official now though.

It's good to have official confirmation from the show, at least. Still on the fence about going. Will probably wait until late in the week to check the weather before making my decision.EricP wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 8:38 pm I just do not understand the organizers for this show. A few questions for those of you who have gone before:
- If I were to go to the show Sunday, what are the odds that I would get to see some of the static aircraft depart? The website says the show grounds close at 6 p.m. so it seems likely that some of the aircraft will be moving by then but I'm not sure if crowds will be herded out once the flying is over.
- Is there a good place to sit for taxying photos? The grounds map looks like I'd have to make a choice between that and being on the fence along the show line, but the area designated "Spectator Area 2" looks promising.

I have been going for years and have never caught static aircraft departing on Sunday. That said, I usually make my way out after the last act was done. For the most part, the statics are normally open for people to walk through or up to as they are leaving the show. When I lived closer to the airport, I would go over later in the evening and park on the backroads to try and catch some.kalamazookid wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 1:22 pm A few questions for those of you who have gone before:

As far as taxi photos, you would definitely have to make a choice. I have always chosen the show line, but this year I may attempt to sit in front of the TBirds. I don’t know that there are many great opportunities for taxi photos, but I haven’t really given it a chance.

The Static display has improved the offerings of this weak show. B-52,E-2,KC-46,KC-135 are all a plus. An Airshow of this size that has one F-18 one F4U and the Thunderbirds and about three acrobatic acts is pretty pathetic oh wait I forgot a Care flight helo is going to fly by. I may skip the $30 ticket and $15 parking and just go Mon to the Long Term parking for $5 and Maybe get a B-52 taking off.

Weren’t you complaining about $100 tickets with no statics? Now you have statics and an even bigger lineup. Like what are you even posting for? Attention? You’re getting zero attention from people who have a say in the airshow lineup. It’s pretty simple; you don’t think it’s a good show? don’t go. BTW Kroger’s around Dayton sell tickets for $22Grunt087 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 05, 2021 1:43 pm The Static display has improved the offerings of this weak show. B-52,E-2,KC-46,KC-135 are all a plus. Here's a great opportunity to meet the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in advance of this weekend's CenterPoint Energy Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger. Meet 'em in person, then see 'em fly at the air show.
