Matt
Quite to be frank, but I'm somewhat puzzled a Mitchell from the West Coast will be joining TOM's Mitchell Gathering or so-called "Mitchell Madness", I never suspected 'Semper Fi' to be apart of this event or any Eastern Regional events occurring next year, but I see what they define by "Mitchell Madness", its full of line-up of starling aircraft (Twin-Engine Mitchell Medium Range Bombers) that are actually from the West Coast. But anyway, enjoy the the sound of x 2 Wright R-2600-92 Twin Cyclone 14-cylinder air-cooled radial engines.kalamazookid wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 12:36 pm Per Michael Luther on WIX, PBJ-1J Mitchell "Semper Fi" from the CAF Southern California Wing is confirmed!

Are you complaining that it’s coming? Because I’m hella hyped it’s coming. Probably only chance someone like me has at seeing this bird and I find it to be a awesome addition.Nick wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 8:23 pmQuite to be frank, but I'm somewhat puzzled a Mitchell from the West Coast will be joining TOM's Mitchell Gathering or so-called "Mitchell Madness", I never suspected 'Semper Fi' to be apart of this event or any Eastern Regional events occurring next year, but I see what they define by "Mitchell Madness", its full of line-up of starling aircraft (Twin-Engine Mitchell Medium Range Bombers) that are actually from the West Coast. Not sure where you were trying to go with this.. Nonetheless, Semper Fi likely won't be the only West Coast Mitchell in attendance.Nick wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 8:23 pmQuite to be frank, but I'm somewhat puzzled a Mitchell from the West Coast will be joining TOM's Mitchell Gathering or so-called "Mitchell Madness", I never suspected 'Semper Fi' to be apart of this event or any Eastern Regional events occurring next year, but I see what they define by "Mitchell Madness", its full of line-up of starling aircraft (Twin-Engine Mitchell Medium Range Bombers) that are actually from the West Coast. Oh, I meant to assert to be frank, never heard news of West Coast Warbirds attending Eastern Shows, I never imagined East and West Coast Warbirds visiting each other, that's because I've never been to an out of state airshow. Nonetheless, I'm curious which West Coast Twin-Engine Mitchell will be on the attendance line-up next. All I know is we have "Photo Fanny" (which is likely to not be apart of the attendance line-up) and "Guardian of Freedom" as far I as know locally, still I have no clue on what other Mitchell bombers are located here on the West Coast.GRNDP51 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 12:18 amNot sure where you were trying to go with this.. Well it depends on what an airshow is going for, and Thunder is one of the only airshows that reaches out to all the owners of aircraft that fit the theme regardless of distance from Willow Run. At the Corsair gathering the first confirmed attendee was Erickson's -7 from Oregon.Nick wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 1:17 am Oh, I meant to assert to be frank, never heard news of West Coast Warbirds attending Eastern Shows, I never imagined East and West Coast Warbirds visiting each other, that's because I've never been to an out of state airshow. Regarding B-25's, the west also has Grumpy in WA, Buster with FHCAM (which will not be attending for obvious reasons), Heavenly Body in OR, Executive Sweet, and Pacific Princess.

From Michael Luther, You can add The Commemorative Air Force's B-25J "Miss Mitchell" to the list!
Seven Mitchells have now been confirmed for the show already. My guess is that they are shooting for around 20 Mitchells for this year.

20? That might be interesting to see 20 Mitchells fly at one event. I guess that's how TOM defines: "Mitchell Madness".smalldude333 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 11:47 am From Michael Luther, You can add The Commemorative Air Force's B-25J "Miss Mitchell" to the list!

Yeah, if I can remember, last time TOM had a Mitchell gathering, 15 Mitchells showed up and 14 of them flew at the same time (one having mechanical issue). I bet they are trying to beat that number if they can.

14... I'm curious of the sound of the twin Wright R-2600-92s was like for the area to be hearing during that weekend. Not going to lie, but nearby residents must have thought their was a air raid happening over YIP airspace.smalldude333 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 3:23 am Yeah, if I can remember, last time TOM had a Mitchell gathering, 15 Mitchells showed up and 14 of them flew at the same time (one having mechanical issue).
