As per instructions from the local authority, all visitors to the Midlands Air Festival will be required to present evidence of a negative coronavirus test upon entry. This can take the form of a self-adminstered Lateral Flow Test, which can be ordered free of charge from the UK government website, or collected from most chemists.

Tests must be taken within 24 hours of arriving at the airshow.

Event Guidance as at 26th May 2021
The following information will be updated as we near the event with the latest guidance, please check back regularly.

Dear Ticket Holder

PRIOR COVID TESTS WILL BE COMPULSORY IN ORDER TO ATTEND MIDLANDS AIR FESTIVAL

The organisers work closely with various organisations to assure your safety, including the Police, Environmental Health and Health and Safety. After seeking their advice, it has been decided to ask that all attendees take a Covid Lateral Flow Test within the prior 24 hours of travelling to the Festival.

Covid Lateral Flow Tests may be available at your place of work. If not, they are available, free of charge, here: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-ra ... flow-tests as well as at your local pharmacy.

The tests are very simple to take, with instructions provided.

Once taken you can register a negative result with the NHS following the instructions in the pack. You will then get a text and email confirmation. When you arrive at the Festival you will need to show either a print out of this confirmation or the electronic original on a phone or tablet.

This applies to all ticket holders of 12 years age or more.

You must not attend the Festival if you have symptoms of Covid.

We hope you will understand our efforts to keep you all safe and are looking forward to welcoming you to a fantastic event.

With best regards

Trevor Graham & James McDonald

Some lovely last-minute additions in the form of the Westland Sioux and Sioux Scout. Rich Goodwin has been added to the Friday line up in addition to Sat/Sun. He is listed to fly both the Jet Pitts and Muscle Biplane on both days, although in an interview Rich gave a couple of weeks ago with Flyer Magazine Rich said he would only be displaying the Jet Pitts (minus the jet engines) for the next few months.

There have also been some changes to the schedules. Friday's flying display is now split across three blocks, totalling 2hrs of air displays (up from 1.5), although by my count they've only got about 75 minutes of performances listed on their website. These will run from 18:00-19:00, 20:30-21:00 and 21:15-21:45.

Saturday's flying display start has been brought forward to 12:30 to account for the lengthier flying display that day (Sunday's remains at 13:00) and the flying will end at 18:00 on both days. The RAF Falcons parachute display has been moved from its morning slot into the main air display segment. In its place, a second daily character kites show will take place each morning, in addition to the evening character kites show that was already on the schedule.

NOTAMs suggest that the Red Arrows will open the show on Friday and Saturday, the Typhoon will come towards the middle of the flying programme on Saturday and Sunday, and the RAF Falcons will close both Saturday and Sunday.

The weather forecast is looking good!
