Unusually strong military participation this year, with one of the Polish Air Force's top aerobatic teams as well as solo displays from the Swiss Super Puma, Polis C-130E and Polish F-16, all three of which will use flares. There are plenty of other combined acts in the making, such as the Red Bull formation, Edge 540 & hot air balloon and GliderFX & Bo.105, which will together attempt something never seen before. The local government and airshow organisers are both very keen for this event to go ahead in a normal, non-drive-in style (but with pandemic precautions) come what may. Flying will start late afternoon at around 5pm and continue until around 11pm. It may only be a mid-sized show at a small grass airfield, but trust me, Leszno is the best airshow I have ever been to in my life! Highlights video from last year below:

Would 100% recommend considering this as a secondary show when you manage a Europe trip. It doesn't get much military stuff but in terms of atmosphere and intimacy it's unbeatable. Plus the crowdline has a 90 degree bend in it, so things come blasting round the corner in a steep bank at 50ft and almost within touching distance! It's fairly sure to get an Eastern Bloc classic jet or two each year (SB Lim, TS11 etc) even if it doesn't get something military. I guess in some ways it's probably a bit similar to how small UK and US airshows were in the 70s and 80s.

I've just seen the full flying schedule and wow there are some stunning announcements to come! I'm going to tick off quite a few things from my airshow bucket list at this show. I'll even take the 10 days of quarantine (again) for this.

Among several announcements today is the incredible Ocovski Bacovia, a four-ship team of Blanik gliders from Slovakia. I have wanted to see these guys for a very long time.

Most of the rest of the line up has now been announced, including the Flying Bulls' B-25, Aerosparx, Marek Choim, the Flying Dragons & more. Many of the aircraft will be performing together (for example, paragliders & XA-42 as a group, Ocovski Bavocia with two RC gliders, the whole Flying Bulls collection together, Extra 300 with a hot air balloon, GliderFX with a Bo.105).

There will also be a large fireworks show to end the evening's entertainment.

The C-130 did a recce yesterday, doing some very steep topsides down to around 100ft. This is going to be amazing!

Some big changes to the flying line up, including some great additions and sad omissions.

Added to the display:
+ Red Bull Team Blanix
+ Falcon 2000S solo
+ A certain Polish Air Force aerobatic team, which will be announced in due course (Saturday only)

Removed from the line up
- Zelazny Aerobatic Group dropped from Friday, now Saturday only
- Ocovski Bacovia cancelled
- One Bonanza has been dropped from the Ercoupe/Bonanza four-ship

Also, the C-130 will be displaying twice each day: a solo routine at sunset, followed by a night time flare drop after dark, during which it will try to recreate the "Angel Wings" effect.

Finally, there are some unique things in the works and several acts will be interacting with ground-fired pyrotechnics. There are particularly big plans for Marek Choim and the Bo105.

Saturday's headline act will be the Polish Air Force's Aerobatic Team Orlik with five PZL-130s.

Just arrived at Leszno and the first display aircraft are already on-site.

A last-minute addition to the line up is an L-29SK Delfin, which will be operating from Leszno Airfield itself using the grass runway.
