Good evening all. The Girls Fly Too event is this weekend, so now is the perfect time to post. I look forward to everyones photos, and videos. Seeing an E-3 back in Abbotsford after 14 years on static display will be a huge highlight, and a delight for many photographers. For anybody that has a special lady in their life, via wife, girlfriend, friend, parents, or grandparents, bring them out to this event, as it is targeted to inspire females of all ages to get into aviation. Enjoy the weekend, and the event guys.

Kind of strange that the P-8 and KC-46 both make their debut at Abbotsford....and it's not at the Abbotsford Airshow! Throw in a few fighter/trainer types and it is a better static than the AIAS has had in years.

I believe Girls Fly Too benefits from not having to pay any of the costs of aircrews like hotels, cars and meals. No other air show I know of gets that same deal, but the organizer of Girls Fly Too is apparently politically connected at a high level. I imagine the Abbotsford Airshow prioritizes spending on performers over more large static aircraft that have significant costs associated with them.

Does anyone have any information on the scheduled departure times of these aircraft? Love to catch sight of even a few of these types in the air.
If not, I hope we can enjoy some photos and/or video here on this thread!

I would start looking to the skies, and listening around 7AM for departures today. Enjoy your plane spotting, and hope you see some good stuff. E-3 will probably steal the show again :D :D

Here is my video of the arrivals to this years Girls Fly Too event held at YXX. It was nice to see all the heavies again this year and was my first time capturing the E-3 AWACS. Enjoy!
