I'm sure everyone not in the front row will enjoy staring at the back of the vehicles parked in front of them during the ground battle.

LOL That was my first thought also. Once people realize they can't see anything from the second row back, those who fought for a front row spot (not easy with a 7am gates open) will have a bunch of people crushing around their car trying to see.

Drive-in continues to be a head scratcher

We were on the front row last year and had people crashing our space. They'd just walk up stand next to you like the they owned the place. I can only imagine what it will be like this year with ground battles.

Yeah, and their recent efforts with the battle haven't utilized the aircraft for the duration of the battle. Those recent efforts in relation to the battle don't inspire confidence that they'll maximize the flying in an already short flying display - not to mention that nobody outside the front row will be able to see what's happening on the ground, anyway.

Puzzling decisions and ideas from the TOM crew. A two-hour airshow for four times the price of the usual individual ticket, and a ground battle a fraction of the spectators will be able to see. Sounds great! It's really hard to be anything less than cynical and openly sarcastic about these changes.

I doubt I'll go, even with the complimentary ticket, but I'm still keeping tabs in case something really unique gets added.

I was kind of split between this one and trying to make it to RIAT again, but seeing the format and pricing won't be going back to normal it makes the choice way easier. Can do all 3 days of RIAT for about half the price of a full day show here. Hope they go back to the old format eventually..
