Looks like an accident occured at the show today. Haven't heard anything other than rumors it involved Shockwave. Anyone have any updates?

So sad! Thoughts and prayers to the Darnell family. Chris was such a nice guy.CoastersUnited wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 6:40 pmIt was Shockwave, driver confirmed deadWaka Photography wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 6:30 pm Looks like an accident occured at the show today. Yes, it appears Shockwave crashed, and they are reporting one fatality. There is a video in the article. The truck can be seen catching on fire before veering off the runway and tumbling.

Interesting, looks like the back left tire was gone prior to the explosion. Not good.Waka Photography wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 7:18 pm https://www.fox3now.com/truck-explosion ... -one-dead/

I assumed the tire blew after the explosion. In the first picture there's other debris in the air along with a piece of the tire, which makes me think that'l was taken right when it exploded. Thoughts?awal2049 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 7:33 pmInteresting, looks like the back left tire was gone prior to the explosion. I'm sure we'll here about it more later today. I'm curious if that's Ryan in the first picture filming. He'll probably have some stuff to say about it too.

If we sync it up to the video, the chutes were already out when the fire started. I think whatever happened there (first pic) caused everything else.Waka Photography wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 7:46 pm I assumed the tire blew after the explosion. My best guess is that the fire was a result of the truck's fuel line being ruptured by the debris of possibly the back left tire.awal2049 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 8:04 pmIf we sync it up to the video, the chutes were already out when the fire started. It appears to me that the tire coming apart threw shrapnel into the tire fairing which itself threw shrapnel into the engines and fuel lines, causing both the fire and loss of control.
