Cleveland National Air Show 2022
To anyone familiar with the layout there, any spots where you can get under them or is the majority of the show over water ?

Here's a map layout for the airshow. https://www.clevelandairshow.com/wp-con ... scaled.jpg

Thanks for that but I mean off base where you can get under the flight path.

Are you referring to something like this? From the look of the map of the area around Burke Lakefront Airport, the flight path is pretty much on the water.
I would say your best bet would be either the parking lot behind FirstEnergy Stadium (where the Cleveland Browns play) or Voinovich Bicentennial Park.

Voinovich used to be open on practice days, then they figured it out. It *might* be open on Thursday but on Friday-Monday there will be a guarded fence to keep people in line with the show line.
Some people go to the marina at the other end, but I have never tried that so no details.
If you pay to park downtown you can watch from the airport property just outside the show grounds. Not a great view but no ticket required.

I checked maps, doesn't look too promising which is why I'm seeking input from a local.
If they fly the runway looks like there is potential for spots, but sure, if most run-ins are over the water then I'm SOL. I'm so used to being under them that seeing them from a show perspective doesn't do much for me anymore. Don't take much video at shows but glad I got this takeoff last week at Ypsi, practice day.

My hometown show. I guess teaching me something new. Anyone tell me what the new FAR is to prevent you from watching the show from your car in the paid parking?

Given that the official parking is in line with the crowd area but outside the corner marker, I can see the FAA weighing in to keep crowds down in that area.dzirzow wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 11:57 pm My hometown show. That said, I have definitely watched the Blues from the car in order to get a jump on traffic and no one cared.

I'm 51, parents took me to this show since I was born.... younger bro has flown Navy planes in for static. Never have I seen them post this. Yes, if I go in, I would walk early for statics and watch show from the car.
