That change of command yesterday was really interesting. I’m an army vet. Never saw anything like that before!! Did andrews today. Was good. Before it all got started, the President flew in and boarded his airplane. Got to see all that. Years of shows…never saw that either.

I really wanted to go this year. Unfortunately, I needed a break from travel after going through some stress, and I made the decision to cancel my trip. I did catch the livestream, and although there were some technical difficulties during and after the Viper Demo, the show was fantastic. Lots of vapor and clear skies all day.
The Leap frogs had an incident where two of the chutes became entangled while their jumpers were stacked, and they had to cut away and deploy the reserves. I was trying to figure out if that was planned, but I don't think it was. BA1 had an issue after start up and had to restart, which held their performance up a little. Their demo was fantastic, much better than when I saw them in Charleston. This was the year to go, and I'm bummed I couldn't make it.
I noticed on Flightaware that Fat Albert flew during Beach Blast, but it didn't look like their demo profile. I'm guessing the Leap Frogs jumped out of her. Bert did not fly during the show.

The Leapfrogs incident was not planned. They did not do that during the Friday practice show. They looked slightly shook up when they were greeted by their teammates. And yes Fat Al was the jump plane for the Leapfrogs at the Beach Blast. I was following him on ADS-B and my scanner at home and he ended with a flat pass fly-by at around 150 feet. Also the afterburner demo team Rhino for the beach blast had a gear issue after launching and circled a few times before landing and swapping jets.

Fun show. Lots of good military demos with plenty of afterburner. Not alot of gaps on Sunday.

I had a great time at the airshow yesterday. This was without a doubt one of the best shows I’ve seen Oceana put on in a long time and by far the best airshow I've seen this year. Stay tuned for some of my videos from yesterday's show sometime this week.

Were there a lot of Super Hornet statics like in 2016 and 2017 (one from each squadron)? Or few like in 2018 and 2019?
Did VFA-87 have Cdr Tremel's kill bird on static?
How was the "Squadron Mall" this year?
Went both days to Andrews, so missed Oceana this year.
