One significant change to the International Sanicole Airshow for 2022 - The Sunset show moves to Saturday 10th September
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete the survey regarding the 2021 Sanicole Airshow. We have studied the feedback thoroughly and have taken many comments onboard for the organization of our 2022 event.

There is though one is a major change which we would like to announce!

Since 2010, the airshow weekend has had a fixed format with the Sunset Airshow on Friday and the full airshow on Sunday. In 2021, we had to shook things up a little due to COVID, by adding Saturday as a full showday.

For the 2022 event we will return to the well-known combination of a sunset event with the traditional airshow on Sunday. But the separate Sunset Airshow will not be on Friday anymore. Many visitors indicated they found it difficult to arrive for the start of the airshow display following a full day at work or at school. This means that Friday evening will no longer see a public event at our airfield. Instead, we will move the Sunset an airshow to Saturday. On Sunday, there will be our full airshowday, as we know it for more than 40 years.

We look forward to welcoming you again in 2022 with this new format. Plan your visit on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September 2022! Stay tuned for exciting news coming soon.

No real surprise that the three major demo teams plus the NH90 SAR will be in attendance. Should be some additional flypasts and role demos aswel.

Classic Formation intends to attend with their full four-ship display of one DC-3 and three Beech 18s, per their website.

The German Army Aviation NH Industries NH90TTH demo has been been added to the flying displays with a further example appearing in the static display.
The Germans will make a grand entrance at Sanicole this year with not one but two of their impressive NH-90TTH (Tactical Transport Helicopter). One of these state-of-the-art machines will be part of the static so you can admire it upclose and have a chat with the crews who will surely share their experience with this amazing helicopter, while a second NH-90 will blow you away with a magnificent demonstration of its superb agility, stopping and accelerating away, twisting and turning on a sixpence despite being such a heavy and large helicopter, all vital elements to survive during its operational deployments.

Royal Navy Black Cats will be flying a solo Wildcat HMA2 at Sanicole once again
Among the most modern military machines to participate at this year’s International Sanicole Airshow is the British Royal Navy’s state-of-the-art Agusta-Westland AW-159 Wildcat. While it may look a little like its Lynx ancestor, this ultra-advanced helicopter is chockfull of modern avionics and sensitive detection equipment to allow it to execute its missions with unrivalled effectiveness.

Its primary missions is to protect friendly vessels from enemy submarines, but thanks to its agility it is extremely versatile and can perform a variety of tasks operating from Royal Navy frigates.

At Sanicole, the Royal Navy Wildcat Demonstration Team from 825 Naval Air Squadron based at Yeovilton will demonstrate this advanced machine for you, following in the footsteps of their illustrious Black Cats predecessors. A wonderful opportunity to see this sophisticated machine upclose!
