30 years ago this weekend, Midway Airlines flew its last flight. When their pilots ferried their jets to the boneyard, they saluted Midway Airport with a 3 ship flyover of MD-80s.

On this date in 1954 a B-47 remained aloft for 47 hours and 35 minutes due to weather conditions. The jet was refueled nine times before it recovered safely.
