Azerbaijan next user of the M346

Azerbaijan is set to join the community of countries using the Alenia Aermacchi M346 Master. The Azerbaijani president, Ilham Aliyev, finally signed a deal to purchase Leonardo's successful jet trainer.

The Azərbaycan Hərbi Hava Qüvvələri already voiced its intent to purchase ten aircraft with an option for fifteen more back in 2018. Somehow, this deal had not yet materialised. The Azerbaijan AF currently uses the L-39 in the advanced trainer role along with Su-25s as attack platforms. The latter may eventually also be replaced by M346s.
