The CAF Bearcat, No 122674, was built in 1948 and was the 34th-from-the-last F8F built. This aircraft has been very well taken care of through the years, but part of that is a major overhaul every couple of years to entirely inspect the aircraft. That is the case with this Bearcat that has spent the year being worked on by volunteers. This is a costly project and any support would be appreciated. For the #6 aircraft in the #12Planes of Christmas, we welcome back the AT-11 Kansan. This aircraft was used to train and prepare young soldiers for combat. Members of the CAF Lobo Wing Moriarty in New Mexico have worked on this restoration project for over 17 years and are happy to announce they are close to finishing the work. This AT-11 was one of 50 AT-11s that would eventually serve in the Albuquerque area where it is being restored. This particular aircraft was number 15 off of the assembly line and once airworthy will be the oldest flying AT-11!

Over the past 35 years, the Commemorative Air Force P-51 Mustang Gunfighter left its mark in the hearts and minds of countless people who enjoyed flight experiences in the iconic WWII fighter. Unfortunately, years of service as a flying memorial and educational tool left their marks on Gunfighter too. In 2019, while attending a formation clinic at the Southern Heritage Air Foundation in Tallulah, Louisiana, The Gunfighter pilot Larry “Lumpy” Lumpkin engaged in a conversation with John and Daniel Mosley from John's 360 Coatings Services located in nearby Bolton, Mississippi.
