Not sure how I feel about this. It's good to see new markings and honor her history I guess but I did appreciate how the aircraft all tied in with 'Yankee'. Looks like it might be a green over gray scheme that should be a bit different from others out there at least!

After this WASP Stearman is restored it will be used to educate people of all ages about the mission of the WASP during World War II and the incredible impact they had, and continue to have, on female aviators. Meet aircraft #9 a C-45 expeditor named Spirit of West Texas. This aptly named aircraft is connected to the community by helping to tell the story of the Midland Army Air Field. One of many airfields across the country which swiftly went into action as a training hub for young soldiers. It’s time for this aircraft to get some maintenance work done to ensure it continues to take to the skies of West Texas. I'm really excited about the repaint even though I loved the Yankee Warrior scheme. There are other polished B-25s, but there are very few that are actual combat vets. It will be great to see one in its actual scheme!

In other heavy warbird news, Mid America Flight Museum acquired B-17 Flying Fortress "Thunderbird" from Lone Star Flight Museum! Hopefully this eventually mean more airshow appearances for Thunderbird, even if that doesn't immediately happen in 2021.

CAF units are teaming up to return the PT-19 to the air! Volunteers from the Commemorative Air Force Dixie Wing are currently rebuilding the wings, while Commemorative Air Force- Heart of America Wing volunteers are restoring the fuselage, engine, and avionics. The plan is to bring the aircraft back to airworthy status so that it can continue to demonstrate how the aircraft was used to train young military pilots during World War II. How do you restore a Yak-11?

This question Frenchman Laurent Lecomte must have asked himself many, many times. He acquired a Yakovlev Yak-11 project in 2006.

Great news from the Vintage Aviation Museum! They have found a company that can make new wing spars for their B-17E Desert Rat. Here are our latest articles about this restoration http://warbirdsnews.com/?s=desert+rat

Aircraft #11 is the CAF’s one and only P-40 Warhawk. It is essential for this aircraft to be in flyable condition in order to carry out the mission of telling the story of the Flying Tigers. To help get the P-40 Warhawk back in the air, P-40 Sponsor Group at https://fundrazr.com/01jks0
