Engine test of Avro Lancaster B.VII, NX611/G-ASXX, “Just Jane”, at East Kirkby, Lincolnshire, England, on Wednesday 14th April 2021. This was the Lancaster's second engine test of the year after its winter maintenance schedule. But the first engine test in public at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Center which had opened its doors for the first time in several months due to England's COVID restrictions. The Lancaster is three years in to a ten year project to make it airworthy, It has not flown since 1970. Check out our articles http://warbirdsnews.com/?s=just+jane

Update from the Valiant Air Command Museum on the TBM Avenger that crashed at the Cocoa Beach Airshow yesterday.
Thank you for your thoughts, generosity, and kind words.
We can confirm that the TBM has been retrieved from the water. She is secured and under guard from Patrick Space Force Base security forces on the back of a trailer in preparation to bring her home in the morning.
We will provide further updates as to her condition once she has been safely brought back to the museum and fully inspected.

John Parker from Warbirds Online in Australia recently made another visit to Vintage Fighter Restorations (VFR) in Scone to check out progress with the restoration of Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX MH603.
The April 20 letter signed jointly by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), was sent to Ali Bahrami, FAA Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety.

EAA's B-17 Aluminum Overcast has been grounded through Airventure 2021 and most likely well beyond that.

"From EAA April 22, 2021 – As part of a routine preflight inspection of the B-17 Aluminum Overcast in Florida last week, our tour teams discovered a fitting inside the wing that showed signs of fatigue. Following safety protocols, the airplane was grounded for a full inspection that determined that replacing the part was necessary. The on-site tour teams did an outstanding job of finding and correctly assessing the situation with safety as the first priority.

Because of that, EAA's B-17 national tour is on hiatus for the time being. The airplane will remain in Florida at this time until a repair schedule is finalized. We do not currently have a final timeline for those repairs, but will keep everyone updated as additional information becomes available via the B17.org website and other channels.

Refunds are being made available for all pre-booked passengers for tour stops and for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh flights. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate the outpouring of support for EAA and our aircraft tour operations."
