F-117 Nighthawks Visit Fresno-Yosemite international Airport

The first photographs along with a press release about the F-117 stealth jets deployment to California have eventually been published by the U.S. Air Force on the DVIDS (Defense Visual Information Distribution Service) network. Although they don't expose any relevant, new detail, the photos are extremely interesting as they are the first official images of the iconic Nighthawk aircraft published since the U.S....

Two new clips show the F-117 Stealth Jets that deployed to Fresno last week in amazing detail. We have already written a series of reports about the "surprise" appearance of two F-117 Nighthawk aircraft that flew as KNIGHT01 from Tonopah Test Range Airport, Nevada, to Fresno Yosemite International Airport on Sept. 13, 2021. The iconic stealth jets conducted dissimilar air combat training with the local-based California Air National Guard F-15C/D Eagles of the 144th Fighter Wing for a week, before heading back home....

I've been told that the classification on the Nighthawks recently changed and that they are likely going to start making a lot more appearances like this. We shall see :)

The U.S. Marine Corps F-35B STOVL (Short Take Off Vertical Landing) jets jointly operated with an F-117 Nighthawk from Tonopah Test Range. On Feb. 8, 2022, the news started circulating online about at least one F-117 Nighthawk working the pattern at MCAS (Marine Corps Air Station) Miramar, California. The sighting immediately brought to mind the somewhat surprising deployment two F-117s did in 2020 to Miramar as well as the one to Fresno last year....

During "Lightning Carrier" Concept Demonstration, amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli operated with a record 20 F-35Bs. One of the F-35B flew with a U.S. Air Force F-117 Nighthawk on Apr. 5, 2022. Report here: https://theaviationist.com/.../09/f-117 ... s-tripoli/
