Check out the music video of Lady Gaga's Hold My Hand which is the theme song for the upcoming sequel.

In addition there's going to be a soundtrack for the movie.

I will say that I'm looking forward to seeing Top Gun: Maverick. Honestly, its just for the flying scenes, but I do know at least some (all?) will be ridiculous.

On another note, my son (16) just watched the original Top Gun with me the other day. He enjoyed it, particularly any scenes with flying in it. Afterwards he said: "I'm glad I'm not lactose intolerant, because that was a lot of cheese."

Saw the movie today. Here's my spoiler-free review: it's fantastic. If you know your stuff about planes, there are some flaws that are pretty easy to spot, same with first film. I'm sure Mover and the rest of the YouTube community will have a field day with it. That doesn't really matter. It's fighter jet porn, some of the best ever made. I was actually quite surprised with all the stuff they got RIGHT. Anyway, I know most people aren't going to know or care about that, I just don't want to let nitpicking ruin the experience for people. It's a great movie. The actors were all phenomenal.

I do wish some of the footage was more stable/less shaky (I know, I'm one to talk), but I'm sure it was hard, especially with big IMAX cameras. With much of the movie being practical, I get it. Just wishful thinking.

Strong recommendation for those considering seeing it. Lots of references and call backs to the original, even some footage from the first film that I don't think was released. Some modern humor as well. It's a very "current" film, but one that I think will age well. I don't think I'd quite go as high as Rotten Tomatoes did, but definitely in the 90s for me.

I saw it this afternoon as well. I feel exactly the same as I did about the original - over the top and hokey, but also awesome and something I will absolutely watch again. I'm not going to nitpick realism because that's not what I went for - I went for badass flying, and it delivered in that regard. There were a lot of cool throwbacks to the original and lots of great footage of real Super Hornets. The scenes that required CGI were actually well done unlike a lot of other new movies.

That said, the Super Hornet will NEVER be as cool as a Tomcat. Sorry to all the Super Bug fans out there. :P
