How late is the museum and ramp typically open on arrival day? I will likely be arriving in the area early that afternoon. Not sure what to expect with how long it will take to get settled with the car rental and drive over from Ontario. Seems like it should be pretty quick and painless, and if it is I plan to drive on over if there's enough time left for it to be worth it.

I'm 99% sure you can stay until sunset. I personally haven't been on a Friday arrival since the year they did the twilight show. There was a lot going on last year at sunset (the T-bolt flight and Strega/Voodoo both went up for shoots), and I know some people were there for that. A lot of arrivals happen late afternoon after the practice show too.

Thanks for the info. I've seen sunset photos from Chino but I always assumed those were from someone with special access or possibly part of a photo tour. It would be awesome to be able to spend the evening before the airshow getting static photos and not even worry about it Saturday or Sunday!

The theme has been announced as VICTORY THROUGH AIRPOWER. Seems pretty standard for my understanding of a Chino show? No complaints though, that's what I'm expecting!
We know a lot of you have been asking what the theme for this year's airshow is... and now we can reveal it!

Yeah same as always. I was hoping they would emphasize this as a B-25 (or twin engine Bomber (((A-20 & A-26)))))) gathering. Same info they've had on the site for a week. :|

Would love him to bring back Hell-er Bust one year. One of my favorites! He keeps her close to home

Advance tickets are now on sale.

It also looks like there have been some additions to the Performer Highlights page.

I'm going to the Sunrise photo shoot at the Saturday show. Any suggestions on settings? I've researched exposure bracketing and using graduated neutral density filters. While I haven't jumped into post processing yet (too scary!) I'll try shooting RAW so that I can make adjustments. Any other ideas? Thanks.

When the sun is low I find manual mode is almost required to get the proper exposure. If need be you can use an auto mode like AV to get ballpark settings then fine tune from there.

The importance of post processing cannot be understated. Start playing with it as soon as you can!
