Thunderbirds Visiting Blue Angels in El Centro

Post by RyanS » Tue Feb 25, 2020 6:40 pm

Some recent rumors are coming to fruition as Thunderbird 8 arrived at NAF El Centro today. The rest of the team is supposedly going to arrive on Thursday for some joint training flights before winter training ends. Both teams have their first public shows set for March 14th.

Sure would be a good time to be spotting out there! Hope to see some cool pics!

A couple people have privately asked for schedule info which we sadly don't have. If you know when the teams will be flying, please post it here!

I'm pretty sure that MKBlues1 will have some videos on YouTube when the Thunderbirds arrive, and any other flying they do.

This article says the training runs from today to Saturday the 29th. I expected it to carry over to next week, but the Thunderbirds do need to be ACC certified and I'd imagine that'd occur at Nellis.

From an anonymous message:
Supposed to be thunderbirds at 8, angels at 9:30, tb at 1, angels at 2:30 today. All over the field.

Friday angels at 8, tb at 9:30, angels at 1, tb at 2:30. All over the field. The El Centro Photocall is Friday also, so there might but even more activity in between their flights. Not sure on that, just speculating.

No info on Saturday’s schedule
