Not shocking - Pensacola has reportedly canceled the Homecoming airshow
From CO Captain Tim Kinsella

As I’m sure you were expecting, we have reached a decision point for the 2020 Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow. After evaluating the viability of safely executing the show this fall and, given the current assessment of the COVID-19 environment and available resources required, we are canceling with no intent to reschedule this year. The timing on our decision point is partly driven by a need to cancel before potentially exposing the Navy to additional monetary risk for contracting deadlines. I know how much the Air Show means to the people of Pensacola, so we make this decision with a heavy heart. This is, unfortunately, one more casualty in this annus horribilus.

Sincerely,
Skipper

So with this canceled, the Blues have no scheduled appearances for the rest of the year. I wonder if they will add any support for the few shows that are pressing ahead? It might be too much of a logistics and financial challenge to support them on smaller than usual crowds, but perhaps they would be open to doing some remote flyovers of events?

Such a shame that this is how the F/A-18 Hornet era comes to an end. I'm sure the Blue Angels would rather close it out in style.

Its disspointing hear this, always loved watching them at Miramar (at the time was the only airshow within driving distance to see the Blues) also the legacy horent demo team and tailhook flight and legacy flight were always fun to watch at Miramar. Now its kinda of a shame that I wont be able to see the beautiful legacy horents one last time at El Centro, Miramar, & Point Mugu (which I also found out their driving distance as well). It always a little treat for me to see the Blues at Miramar after a long week of school a few years ago. At least aside from flyovers for healthcare workers if thinking correctly their last show in the legacy horents occurred at NAS Penscola last year in 2019. Apologizes for long reply.
