I am thinking of going to this one but have never been. Do the based squadrons do any flying for the show? I am looking to catch the F-15s of the Air Guard and the Hornets of the River Rattlers. The rest of the show will be icing for me. Thanks.

I'm in the same position as Sugar Bravo, my make the trip from NY for the show. In addition to the question regarding the locals flying, if any can comment on the set up for photography I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Craig

I attended the last show they put on and unfortunately arrived a little late due to local traffic being backed up. When I was arriving on base, the River Rattlers were putting on a demonstration with several hornets in the air. Looked similar to what Oceana has had with their air power demos. I used a 300mm lens last time and definitely could have had more, but it worked well. Taxi shots were nice because everything was so close, so smaller glass would be good too. Good static displays as well, although some were under canopies.

It appears that the F-35A Lightning II Demo Team will be on hand with the F-22 Raptor Demo Team.

Thanks for the info Brian. The way things are going I doubt the show will happen, but if it does that will be a nice little vacation.

Expectedly its official FOX 8 reports the cancelation of the New Orleans Airshow of 2020.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/2020- ... r-BB17SyEQ
BELLE CHASSE, La. (WVUE) -The 2020 New Orleans Air Show featuring the Thunderbirds is the latest event forced to cancel due to the public health risks associated with COVID-19. Planned for Nov. 7-8, the air station was preparing for more than 120,000 guests. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds were scheduled to headline this event. “We know how much the air show is appreciated by the community but in the current COVID-19 environment the decision to cancel this fall’s air show was made out of an abundance of caution,” Captain Todd Bruemer, NAS JRB New Orleans Commanding Officer, said.
