Periodically, we have made restoration updates regarding the ultra-rare Burnelli CBY-3 Loadmaster at the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. However, it has been more than a year since our last progress report though, so we thought our readers would like to see how this remarkable and unique cargo aircraft is fairing today.

The Nationaal Militair Museum in Soesterberg is putting aircraft outside on the apron next week as they have construction work going on inside the museum.

Which means that between 12 and 18 August the following aircraft will be outside in the sunshine: F-86 K, NF-5B, F-4 Phantom, Fokker S.14, Grumman Tracker, Hawker Hunter, Thunderflash, T-37 and the dual F-104 Starfighter.

Be aware that the aircraft parked outside can always be viewed freely during normal museum opening times, but to visit the museum itself you will need to book a ticket in advance, to reserve a time slot. Go to www.nmm.nl/plan-je-bezoek/tickets-en-prijzen/tickets to avoid disappointment and miss out on this opportunity!

Airmen from the 117th Maintenance Group traveled to the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, GA to disassemble and relocate their A-26 Invader. This mission served two purposes. The Invader will be restored and put on display at Sumpter Smith National Guard Base. This also constituted the annual Crash Damage or Disabled Aircraft Recovery training for the Maintainers.

Great news! SBLim-2.pl is hoping to get the Lim-2 (602) single-seat fighter version of the SBLim-2 (MiG-15bis built under license in Poland) airworthy as early as next year! This will be the only airworthy Mig-15bis in Europe which they hope to display in formation with their SBLim-2 (006).

I'm sure many of you have already seen this article. If someone already posted this, sorry for the repost. Didn't see a threat after a quick scan. A Wasp Class ship has arrived at Pearl carrying a full load of Warbirds. It will take part in the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII running from Aug 29 - Sept 2.

her current cargo consists of a B-25 bomber, two PBY Catalina flying boats, an SNJ/AT-6 Texan, four AT-6 Texans, an FM2 Wildcat, F8F Bearcat, Stearman biplane, TBM Avenger, P-51 Mustang and a T-28 Trojan.
