The Military Aviation Museum's FW-190A-8 Wurger was added to the lineup (officially, though everyone already knew it was going to be present)

Depending on the status of COVID-19, this year's Thunder Over Michigan is slated to be the first show for the Blue Angels' new "Fat Albert" support plane, which is a C-130J Super Hercules.
The first performance of the new Fat Albert, when COVID does not disturb the schedule, in the States will be the "Thunder Over Michigan" show on 29 August 2020.

It appears the US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team will be at TOM. The dates on their schedule are wrong though.

TOM has canceled the show. Anyone who bought tickets will receive the same tickets for both 2021 and 2022
Thank you for your patience and incredible loyalty! You’re certainly part of the greatest fan base in the aviation world!

It has always been and will always be a privilege to serve you and provide an outstanding entertainment event!

Because THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN means so much to so many, we have given our all and spent the last few months working quietly behind the scenes to explore various socially responsible models that would work for today’s climate.

Tomorrow, you will be seeing information in the media regarding the Air Show. As loyal fans, we want you to be the first to know we will not have an Air Show on August 29th and 30th.

Statement from the Event Director, Kevin Walsh: “In the current environment, we are unable to produce the world-renown THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN Air Show event for which we are so well known.”

“It is hard to take a proven model of 21 years and make it work responsibly in an era of global pandemic” stated Walsh. “We take the health, safety and well-being of the seven hundred plus volunteers, the hundreds of aircrews and the tens of thousands of THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN fans very seriously.”

To our valued ticket holders: We know you will have many questions regarding the cancellation and we hope this email will provide some details on how we will be handling tickets. Although the event has a strict no refund policy, 2020 ticket holders who bought tickets through the air show EventSprout ticketing system will be pleased to know that they will not only receive a complimentary equivalent package for the 2021 Air Show but also will receive an additional complimentary package for the 2022 Air Show.

○ For example, if you bought 4 GA, 1 Parking Pass, 4 Fighter Club tickets for the 2020 Air Show, we are going to comp you these same tickets for the 2021 and 2022 Air Shows!!
■ We will issue out the tickets when they go on sale each year.

We appreciate your patience with us during this time and appreciate your commitment to our Air Show. Plans are well underway for the 2021 THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN Air Show and in keeping with decades of tradition we are planning for another world-record gathering of a single vintage aircraft type.

Thank you again for being loyal fans to THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN! We can’t wait to see you on August 7th and 8th, 2021!

I figured it was probably only a matter of time but it's still disappointing. This is officially the end of my hopes for an airshow in 2020. There are a couple local EAA chapter fly-ins that may still take place that I will probably support if they are held.

I do appreciate that they very obviously explored different ways to hold an event this year and the offer to comp advance tickets/parking for the next two years is a really nice gesture on their part.

Here's hoping the Luftwaffe theme is attempted again sometime in the near future.

I will miss hearing the sounds of radials and Merlins, but also the people I only see once a year at Thunder.

Hopefully the world is in a better place in 343 days
