How accurate is this information? I'm asking because I ran into a Super Hornet driver from Oceana a few weeks ago and he was under the impression there weren't going to be any demos from these guys, except maybe for their home show.

One of the West Coast demo pilots told me there would be an East Coast schedule released last week (which obviously didn't happen).

I think these dates are pulled from shows that have announced a Super Hornet Demo but aren't on the West Coast schedule. I know Key West specifically lists VFA-106 for a Super Hornet Demo in a couple weeks so I think it is happening.

Will definitely be interesting to see how it plays out. There still has yet to be a demo over Oceana this year, but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean we won't see a schedule and subsequent practices in the coming weeks. Like Ryan said, Key West specifically lists VFA-106 for a demo in a couple of weeks. Plus, in the last 14 days both Langley and OC have announced demos from the Rhino Demo Team, which I don't think they would do unless a schedule release was coming soon.

I've been around long enough to remember when the Navy or an airshow (or both) would advertise that they'd have a Navy demo - usually a Hornet - and it either is a no-show or is a last minute cancellation. This seemed like a common practice some 25-30 years ago.

A slight twist to the East Coast Rhino Demo story this year. Their performance at Key West was a non-aerobatic demo only. I guess that is explained by the lack of practices at Oceana. I don't know if this will be the norm for the rest of the year but my guess is yes.

The routine is:
- Low transition takeoff
- Two high speed passes
- Carrier configuration (dirty) pass
- Carrier break
- Touch and Go
- Photo pass
- Carrier break
- Landing

That’s a bummer, but it’s better than nothing.

Yeah really. Part of me is happy that we are even having an airshow at Langley/Oceana. At the same time a neutered F18 demo... sounds like a weekday at the end of the runway at Oceana.
