The Frecce Tricolori return to fly at the base of Rivolto, paying homage to Captain Alessio Ghersi, who died in a tragic accident in the area of the Musi mountains, in Lusevera.
"With an aerobatic flight in 9 aircraft we felt the duty and desire to return to fly in honor of Alessio – they explain in post on the official page of Pan – imagining him and feeling him strongly among us, at our side. A symbolic flight that had for all of us, pilots and members of the 313th Group, the deep meaning of unconditional fraternal affection. On the ground, the entire deployed Department greeted his aircraft as it returned".
"It was our way of reacting to the terrible loss of a colleague and friend, honoring his memory and striving to smile in the memory of the good times spent together; determined and proud to carry on with the same passion the mission entrusted to the Frecce Tricolori – they continue -. From here began this period of intense additional training to reconfigure the 2023 Frecce Tricolori Training and prepare to start the aerobatic season of the centenary of the Air Force".
The next appointment with the Frecce Tricolori will be on June 2 with the overflight of the Altare della Patria in Rome.
