So per their schedule, it appears that Atlantic City has the F-35A Demo Team. Osprey too. Be the first time any F-35 would appear in Atlantic City's airshow!

Of course, no Thunderbirds, and from what I read on a Facebook Group, it seems the team wants to cut one-day weekend airshow locations and mid-week airshows for good. That would, sadly, be the nail in the proverbial coffin for future Thunderbirds' appearances in Atlantic City since there's nothing listed in their schedule for 2025, either.

One last thing... I can't help but notice a little gap in a certain ten-plane patrol's tour schedule.

Making its Atlantic City debut in '24 will be Polaris Program's Ghost Squadron with its MiG-29, Alpha Jets and L-39s!

A couple days ago they supposedly "grounded" all Ospreys after the crash in Japan. Hopefully they can still do the demo but this may affect it

I suspect the grounding will be lifted well before August rolls around.

This article came through my news feed:

https://wpgtalkradio.com/first-report-w ... show-2024/

Not a good sign for Thunderbirds fans and for the future of the Atlantic City Airshow if it chooses to remain mid-week. Moving it to a weekend isn't a bad idea, and I would think a timeline outside of the normal Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend would actually be a good thing for the city. AC is perfectly capable of bringing in revelers on Friday and Saturday nights, and that was the course of action for having the airshow in the middle of the week. Of course, room rates at all the casinos and hotels in AC skyrocket for the weekend and also skyrocket around airshow time.

Perhaps it could be an idea to re-visit having the Atlantic City Airshow at the Atlantic City International Airport?

Edited to add that in the past, the team has done airshows at two different locations on the same weekend. This was back when Air Force Bases only had one-day only Open Houses, going back to the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s and to a lesser extent part of the 2000s. It wasn't a problem back then, but is now?

The Ghost Squadron is so excited to be hitting the circuit in 2024! Commander Rook Isaacman has missed his BDJT days and is ready to give you all something bigger and better! There will be planes coming in from every direction and, lets be honest, EVERYONE wants to see Rook in that MiG! Make sure you pack your 500lbs lenses... If you can zoom in quick enough you may get a shot of Rook's "Galactic Empire" helmet ;-)

I think they did the show on a Friday one year. Not sure what year.

That was 2012. I remember that show very well - there was not one but four formation teams (more than three planes) there that year: Thunderbirds, GEICO, the Raiders, and the Black Diamond Jet Team. Opi, I think you were narrating Black Diamond's show, too...

I don't know about you but if the MiG-29 is part of the formation display, I'd also love to see a solo display of it! Been something like 30 years since I've seen a MiG-29 in flight!

Opi, good to see you back on the boards posting again and that you'll be the narrator for the Ghost Squadron too! :D
BTW, hope you'll be offering some cool Polaris Ghost Squardron shirts and patches during your GS 2024 tour also!! ;)

I'm kinda bummed that we won't be getting the Thunderbirds this year, as they're my favorite and we got an abbreviated show last year.

That being said, the shows this year are pretty darn good!

AC is the one show I consistently make it to, and I'm excited for this lineup.
