I don't have the answer to your question on the possible return to Nellis before the show. However, they will be practicing Friday. The norm for the Thunderbirds is a practice show is flown on Friday and typically happens right around the time they would be scheduled to perform on Saturday/Sunday. There have been instances where they have flown earlier as was the case at Dayton last year. IIRC, they went up around 1330 vs. 1530.
PERFORMANCE ADDITION
We are excited to announce that the U.S. Navy has added a LEGACY FLIGHT to the Fort Wayne Air Show this year!
This Legacy Flight is bringing together the modern U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet and the historic F4U Corsair in formation.
The F4U Corsair is credited with helping to turn the tides of the war in the Pacific during WWII.
You don’t want to miss the amazing moment when the past and present take to the skies together to show the rich aviation history of the U.S. Navy.
-Canceled Performance Fort Wayne Airshow-
Unfortunately we had to cancel our scheduled performance at the Fort Wayne Air Show this weekend. Liz tested positive for COVID-19. At this point she is doing fairly well but showing the standard symptoms. We’re not sure if it’s going to just be a mild case or if it will get severe. I myself still tested negative but obviously have been exposed to it. I’m not willing to leave Liz at home with Covid and no one to help her nor would we want to risk exposing anyone at the show. We want to thank all the producers and staff at the Fort Wayne Airshow for hiring us and thank them and all our fans for your understanding. We are hoping and praying that this will be a quick and fast recovery so we can get back to flying and entertaining. -Kyle
