With his Twin Beech 18 down for repairs after the emergency landing in St. Joseph, Missouri, Matt Younkin will be flying a different airplane this weekend's airshow.
We will not be taking her to Barksdale this weekend, but don’t be surprised if another red & black airplane shows up in Miss Ellie’s place.

Spectators please use the North and Main Gates for entry to the Air Show. The North Gate will lead to the Blue parking area on the inserted map. The Main Gate will split the traffic and direct spectators to the Yellow and Green parking areas in the image. There have been a few questions regarding parking next to another vehicle. If you enter the gate one-after-another, that may be possible. Entry to the base is open from 9:00am until noon. Please do not line up in advance of 9:00am. Finally, please print your parking ticket in advance, and have it with you in your vehicle.

Two late additions for this weekend's show at Barksdale AFB are Jerry "Jive" Kerby's T-28 Trojan performance and the P-51 Mustang "Swamp Fox".
The Thunderbirds posted this update on Sunday's show at Barksdale:
IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR FANS ATTENDING BARKSDALE DEFENDERS OF LIBERTY AIR SHOW TOMORROW
Due to expected inclement weather and low air ceilings, all air show performances on Sunday, May 9, 2021 will be downsized! Those planning to attend can expect the show to begin at 10:00 a.m. and will likely end before 1:00 p.m.
The gates will still be open at 9:00 a.m and the Thunderbirds will takeover the skies at 11:00 a.m.
This is the first time I've heard of them shifting the schedule by this much but it sounds like a good idea. It sounds like some performers have already headed home to beat the weather.
