There's already some "discussion" about what a record means. Pretty simply, anything over TOM's previous record of 15 will be a record airshow gathering. The next step is defining what the 2012 record really is; whether it's 19 or 20 airframes. Already discussed earlier in this thread was that 20 never flew together. There were 20 on the ground at Urbana, but 19 flew to the main event at Dayton. 20 flying together at TOM would be enough for the record in my book. :D
I was there in Urbans/Dayton in 2012. There were 20 B-25s in Urbana, all 20 flew to Dayton from Urbana and all 20 took off for the flyover (I have photos of all 20 launching). 19 took part in the actual flyover and I've heard different stories as to why the 20th B-25 didn't or was not allowed to take part. It depends on how you see it. I saw 20 flying that day, just not all in formation. The flyover was very loose, with the last half dozen or so flying solo. I assumed then and with TOM not every pilot will have a FAST Card.

The Blues just removed the post with the updated schedule that announced TOM, maybe to let TOM make the big splash announcement?

I was very surprised to see their post earlier. Definitely shouldn't have stolen Thunder's Thunder.

I think it was more for the fact that Fort Worth was omitted by mistake (possibly)

If this is really happening and the Blues are headlining the morning, that extra half hour they added to the beginning of the morning show should help preserve some variety in the lineup. I signed up for the morning because I prefer the single ship demos and a shorter routine that allows more time for other aircraft, but I'm not going be disappointed if the Blues headline. :D

Looking forward to more details if this indeed happening.

We're all going to look so cool wearing the same t-shirt to this show.
