Forty four years ago to the day, on September 23rd, 1976, the famed TV-series Baa Baa Black Sheep first aired on television in the United States. Technically the pilot episode ran on 9/21, but the first one-hour series episode did air on 9/23. It was a seminal moment for many of us who follow vintage military aviation today, especially if we were kids at the time. Here to tell a little of the story about the making of that show, and the aircraft involved is our own Stephen Chapis, revisiting an article “Poor Little Lambs” that he originally wrote some years ago (Warbird Digest #49). With the 45th anniversary coming up next year we are planning something very special for the occasion. We can't say much, but stay tuned! #BaaBaaBlackSheepDay
