I live on the far, far, east side of Las Vegas. Red Flag did offically kick off yesterday, but I didn't notice any activity more than normal. I could definetly hear increased noise this morning. I live too far for visual but am thinking about a drive up in the next few days to see what I can see. Any one know the best time?

Nice photos from the inside!

So things generally don't launch until noon? And recoveries start around 4:00? Why not start earlier?

I hear them launching anywhere from 9am through 10pm, just depends on the day. Interestingly a Luftwaffe A400M arrived yesterday but I don't recall anything German on the list.

Like I said earlier, I live out of sight of Nelis AFB, but within hearing distance. I am currently confined to the house with BAD knee problems. The last several days, the heaviest takeoff noise has come in the late evening, 8-10pm. Not sure if this is just the nighttime part of the exercise, and things will return to daylight flights later or what. Just an observation. Still hoping to make it up at least once before it supposed to end.
Neighbor complains about the noise. I enjoy and feel a sence of pride everytime I hear "The sound of freedom!"

A couple of participants have been revealed on the scramble message boards for Red Flag 22-2.

German Tornado IDS
F-16 Fighting Falcons from Luke AFB

Here's a link to the topic on the scramble boards. Also keep an eye on dreamland resort site.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

While the 425th will be at RF 22-2, they fly the F-16 to train pilots from the Republic of Singapore Air Force.

Some nice tails amongst their jets.

I think most are more interested in aircraft type vs units. Just my opinion
