Preparations for next year's edition of AIR SHOW Radom 2023 are already at an advanced stage. On Monday, December 12 this year, another reconnaissance took place at the new Warsaw-Radom airport with the participation of the Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense Wojciech Skurkiewicz, representatives of the Military Property Agency (AMW), soldiers of the General Command of the RSZ and subordinate units as well as all other uniformed services involved in the organization of the Radom AIR SHOW.

The air show was planned on the last weekend of the holidays, August 26 and 27, 2023, and will be carried out under the slogan "Invincible in the sky", and the event will be dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the successful flight of Capt. pil. Stanislaw Skarżyński over the Atlantic Ocean and setting a world record for flight distance. AMW is the main organizer of the shows, and the General Command of the Armed Forces (DG RSZ) is responsible for the aviation part and static exhibition of military equipment.

On December 12, 2022, at the 42nd School Aviation Base at the Radom Sadków airport, a second reconnaissance took place, which allowed for a detailed analysis of the location, available infrastructure, including proper lighting and undertaking appropriate work to properly prepare the seventeenth edition of the International Air Show AIR SHOW Radom 2023. The next working meeting in Sadków was led by the director of the organizing office of the International Air Show AIR SHOW Radom 2023 Małgorzata Skrzypek together with Brig. pil. Sławomir Żakowski, head of the organizational group from DG RSZ.

"We would like next year's AIR SHOW to be unforgettable not only because of the rich program of air shows during the day, but we are also planning something unusual - a demonstration of piloting artistry after dusk. Aviation fans will be able to see not only what is in the air, but also a rich static exhibition, not only aircraft, but also equipment and equipment remaining in the equipment not only of the Polish Army, but also of our NATO allies" - said Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense Wojciech Skurkiewicz after the meeting. Therefore, during the reconnaissance organized in the late afternoon at the 42nd School Aviation Base in Radom, m.in the lighting of the airport surfaces and the conditions that will allow the organizers to conduct safe night shows were checked. They were tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 26, 2023, after dusk.

The main attraction of the evening AIR SHOW is to be military aircraft supported by the Polish Aero Club aviation. During the night show, aircraft will appear in the Radom sky, whose acrobatics will make spectacular flares and pyrotechnics show more attractive.

The reconnaissance will contribute to the efficient organization of shows, appropriate fire and medical protection, demarcation of communication routes, marking and planning of entry and exit zones and proper lighting necessary for evening shows. It was checked whether the adopted organizational assumptions of such elements of AIR SHOW as: air shows, static exhibition, system of entrances and communication routes, plans for the deployment of sectors of various categories at the airport are feasible and safe. At the airport, a site inspection and necessary consultations took place between soldiers, officers of the Police, Border Guard, State Fire Service, National Revenue Administration, Municipal Guard securing the shows and other entities that, together with PPL, the municipality of Radom and the Municipal Waterworks, will take care of the safe and proper course of this event. This group will also include doctors, paramedics and other health care support staff.

Invitations to participate in the International Air Show (MPL) AIR SHOW Radom 2023 were addressed to aerobatic teams and soloists from all over the world. They were sent to representatives from 34 countries. So far, 9 countries have declared their participation. Since the planning of shows in many countries takes place at the beginning of the calendar year, the organizers are still in talks and are waiting for confirmation of the participation of a dozen teams.

The Croatian Air Force has already confirmed its presence at the AIR SHOW 2023 with OH-58 KIOWA and UH-60 BlackHawk helicopters. Pilots from Lithuania have also announced that they will present the C-27J SPARTAN and AS365N3+ Dauphin. Slovakia decided to participate in the C-27 SPARTAN and L-39 Albatros aircraft. Countries such as Denmark, France, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Switzerland and the United Kingdom have also declared their presence at the MPL AIR SHOW 2023 – however, the exact composition of the teams and aircraft will be known at the beginning of 2023. An interesting fact for viewers will be the KC-135 aircraft, the so-called air tanker from the Illinois National Guard (National Guard Illinois). There is also a good chance of the presence of an AWACS early warning aircraft at the Radom airport.

In next year's AIR SHOW, aircraft remaining in the equipment of the Polish Air Force will also be presented in the air. You will be able to admire the artistry of piloting performed by the Orlik Aerobatic Team from the 42nd School Aviation Base, whose pilots have already started training for shows. At the AIR SHOW 2023, viewers will see Mi-2 and W-3 helicopters, Mi-8 and Mi-24 as well as M-28 and C-130 aircraft, there will also be Su-22, MiG-29, F-16 and M-346. Aviation fans during the show will be able to admire the C-295M aircraft in a unique occasional painting on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the successful flight of Capt. pil. Stanisław Skarżyński over the Atlantic Ocean and setting a world record for flight distance and 20 years of service in the Polish Air Force. In addition, the public will be able to watch the SW-4, Mi-14, W-3 SAR, unmanned aerial vehicles and transport aircraft Gulfstream G-550 and UH-60 Black Hawk and SH-2G.

The event, which will take place on August 26 and 27, will be divided into a static and dynamic part. For military enthusiasts, a static exhibition will be prepared, covering the equipment and armament of all types of the Polish Armed Forces, from the Land Forces through Special Forces, Territorial Defense Forces to the Navy, as well as equipment available in military education. The organizers also count on the presence of NATO allies m.in the US land forces stationed in Poland. The static exhibition will present, m.in tanks, armored personnel carriers, anti-aircraft systems, radars, soldiers' personal weapons, shooting training simulators and drones. It will be possible to observe modern military technology and individual equipment of soldiers, usually inaccessible to the general public. Representatives of equipment manufacturers of the Polish defense industry were also invited to participate.

The International Air Show is a very big undertaking. Securing such large shows as AIR SHOW Radom 2023 is associated with a great logistical challenge, as it concerns the coordination of projects related to the reception and security of personnel, aircraft and land technology. In addition, it requires considerable effort related to ensuring proper social and living conditions, accommodation and food, as well as transport of teams. Air shows are a big logistical challenge, and the overriding issue will be to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators of the show.

Several institutions are responsible for the preparation of the most important aviation event in Poland. The organization of the shows is carried out by the Military Property Agency in cooperation with the General Command of the RSZ, the municipal authorities of Radom, the State Enterprise "Polish Airports" and the Municipal Waterworks in Radom.
