There's a possibility that the RDAF F-16 Solo Display Team will be returning to RIAT next year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the F-16.

We shall wait and see what happens down the road between now and July.

**** Spoiler alert ***
F16: To have a line of F16's on static ordered from old to new to show the evolution of the aircraft. It's not just this specific example but it's evident the organising team are putting real thought into making their product as good as it can be. As I said - Fantastic !
Western Loop: To put special interest aircraft in this area so photographers can get clean shots. It was briefly explained that there is a trade off due to the distance from show centre but again it demonstrates thought going into their product which has to be congratulated. Last year I got great shots of the Su22 and Italian Harriers from this location without a cluttered background which I welcomed. As for making it more popular with crews, perhaps the answer is in the name. You could start promoting 'The Loop' which has obvious links to the internationally well known Machynlleth version. Add a small bit of infrastructure - perhaps a crew refreshment tent or how about a small aviation art gallery showing some of the best 'Loop' photographs or A2A of the located aircraft and you have a feature you can add to promotional material together with increased desirability to be located there.

In this week’s announcement, we’re pleased the Spanish Navy will be returning to RIAT with their iconic Harrier The EAV-8B, known as 'Matador' in Spanish service, set to perform a solo flying display.
Meanwhile on the static display, as part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO)’s 75th anniversary celebration, we will have a Finnish Air Force Hornet, which we hope to park alongside aircraft from fellow NATO nations.
Elsewhere, under our ‘Pushing the Boundaries in Air and Space’ theme, a British Antarctic Survey Twin Otter, in a bright red colour scheme, will also be visiting. This aircraft operates in incredible conditions as it conducts scientific work, which makes it an aircraft not to be missed when you’re visiting RAF Fairford in July..
