I’m guessing they’re continuing with the drive in format?

Theme Aircraft will be the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
Plenty of good warbirds to go along with the modern theme aircraft too!

What exactly is a "Theme Aircraft"? this may be a dumb question but I have no idea what this is, im a first timer for this show. I would assume there would be quite a few vipers showing up though?

That is correct. The "theme aircraft" is the aircraft that will serve as the focal point of the event. The overall theme is "Famous Fighters" which will be anchored by the F-16. Many other famous fighters throughout history will also be present.

Just got this email from TOM, same drive-in format, 2 shows/day. Makes no difference to me, I'll be at Oshkosh.

"Guess what's roaring back onto the horizon? That's right, Thunder Over Michigan 2024 is gearing up for another sky-high show!

Mark your calendars and set those alarms: Ticket sales are blasting off on Monday, November 13th, at 10 AM sharp. You don't want to miss the first pick at tickets! The earlier you buy, the better your deal; standard tickets start at $99/vehicle and increase to $199 as more people buy.

Speaking of great deals, we've got some thrilling news: the fan-favorite Bomber Club and Fighter Club are back! These exclusive seats have always sold out, and for good reason – they're simply the best way to immerse yourself in the thunderous action. Get more bang for your buck with a VIP level experience!

Thunder Over Michigan 2024 takes place July 20th and 21st. Can't wait to see you and your crew there!"

It appears TOM is actively shadow banning ALL negative comments on their Facebook page. As someone who routinely attends airshows alone or with one additional family member the drive-in format is a non-starter for me. TOM's answer is to offer a $285 club ticket (at the time of this post) for individuals which is a step in the right direction. I'm also seeing some comments (before they disappear) that the price is changing minute-to-minute which seems a little scammy...this isn't Uber TOM surge pricing isn't cool for them either! The one bonus of the expensive club ticket is that it's an all day ticket meaning the stupid 4 individual show format is a little less impactful.
