UPDATE: Read more about the Thunder Over Louisville lineup issues here.

Only two of the usual six USAF Thunderbirds jets will be performing at this year’s Thunder Over Louisville airshow, WDRB reports. Citing “obstacles,” the FAA has declined allowing the Thunderbirds to perform with six jets after a re-evaluation of the show area.

Kentucky Derby Festival CEO Mike Berry said it is a disappointment. “We appreciate the commitment that they made because I guess if they wanted to they could have said, ‘hey we’re not coming at all … but that’s not the case.

At this time, show officials have not announced what the performance from the two jets will involved.

Bridge construction is currently ongoing in the Louisville area. Officials are not sure if that was the reason the FAA reconsidered their earlier decision to let the Thunderbirds perform.

USAF Thunderbirds officers and enlisted members will still make numerous public appearances at the event.
